Plastic Bag Drive

Everyday is Earth Day, right kids! The WES Sustainability Committee is holding WES‘s first plastic bag drive the week of May 13th. We will spend the entire week providing students with information on the negative impact of plastics on our environment and the positive impact we can all make by properly recycling plastic bags, and by properly recycling in general.

During this impactful week we will sponsor an informative and dynamic assembly for the students and make a donation to the school, outdoor furniture made from recycled plastic bags. You can start holding on to your plastic bags and plan on recycling them through the collection event happening at WES May 13-17.

Remember, don’t throw out your plastic bags in the trash! Do recycle your bags properly. Contact the Sustainability Committee with questions or to get involved: Liz OakesLindsay MarkeyDana Pickup Antionette Fabrizio and Jana Jordan.

May Day

May Day is THIS FRIDAY! This is one of the most popular (and fun) events at WES, but its success requires many parent volunteers.  If you haven’t done so already, please sign up for a shift at a game station – it doesn’t even have to be “your” class. We assign games to teachers because that’s an easy way to divide up volunteers, but if you are available for any spots left open, we’d appreciate your help!  Right now, there are many games that do not have a single volunteer for various time slots and that just won’t work. Please help us make this the best day possible for our kids.

If you have any questions, please email Patty Briganti or Heidi Bischoff.

Please sign up here to volunteer.  Thanks for your support!
